Nico Daswani

Nico Daswani is an independent cultural programmer with a focus on intercultural dialogue through the arts. Since arriving in New York in October 2005, he has worked on projects with organizations such as the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the Jazz Foundation of America and currently serves as Managing Director for the Immigrants’ Theatre Project. Prior to coming to New York, Nico was in Los Angeles where he worked with Judy Mitoma at the UCLA Center for Intercultural Performance. In his time there, he served as Director of Program for the citywide 2005 World Festival of Sacred Music-LA, and the 2004 Asia Pacific Performance Exchange (APPEX) program in Bali, Indonesia, among other projects. Prior involvements include work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and City of London Festival. Nico is dedicated to creating opportunities for people of different cultures to share what they hold sacred and engage in deep, spiritual intercultural relations.
