Music mixer Charlie Campbell was born in Nashville, TN, and raised in southern Connecticut.
He moved to NYC in 1997 to attend the Institute of Audio Research and graduated in 1998. After IAR he worked for
two years at Effanel Music where he focused on recording live music for television, DVDs, and albums before
becoming a freelancer in 2000. Since then Charlie has worked in many facets of the music business,
from live music television programs such as the MTV Video Music Awards and the Grammys
(even winning an Emmy Certificate for his work on the 2003 Grammy broadcast), to Tour Managing and FOH mixing for
such diverse groups as Ashlee Simpson, The Paul Winter Consort, Ethel, and Meat Beat Manifesto.
Charlie has been active in the studio as well, engineering records for artist like Tess Wiley and Rasputina.
Charlie currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, and is thrilled to be involved in this year's Fès Festival of World
Sacred Music.
